It is hard to figure out why some bloggers are more popular than others. Based on the number of views I have, people are not that interested in what I have to say. That is okay but I simply don't get why some blogs that are average written get more views than well-written, articulate blogs (and I am not referring to myself). How do you determine who gets a view and how do you determine which blogs to comment on?

Everytime I turn on the radio, I shake my head at today's music. I must admit I have always despised rap and hip hop and hate what it promotes so I am far from an expert. But I must confess I would rather if forced listen to a band like Run DMC than thugs like Enimem or some of the other musicians (and I use that term loosely).
Today's rock also sucks big time. Bands in the 70's and 80's could actually play their instruments and write great songs. Today's bands stand there with no stage presence and act like they are doing you a favor to perform for you. Seriously has there been a decent band to come out since the early 90's. The only one I can barely tolerate is Buckcherry.
Country music is crap these days too. Country music isn't very country anymore. It is pop twang and the lyrics are just plain stupid. Allison Krauss is about the only one I can stand these days.

I read with interest last night that a woman called the police after her husband punched her. My first reaction was that guy is some kind of loser but then I thought about it. As someone who often talks the game of Feminism, I am a hypocrite. As the story goes, it seems she had struck her husband numerous times, pushing him and punching him. She even admitted she had hit him between twenty and thirty times and finally he had enough. I realize I am opening up a can of worms here, but she chose to hit him first and he took it several times which showed great restraint to be honest. Finally he grew tired of being abused and gave her a knuckle sandwich. Some people were appalled (mainly women) and some people thought she had it coming.
I am in the she had it coming boat. If anyone chooses to hit another person, they have given the right up to use the race, gender, etc. card. Hitting is wrong regardless of the gender and we can argue about the physical differences until we are blue in the face. However, ladies if we decide to take on a male then we should be prepared to be treated like one. The guy had every right to punch her back and if we are going to play the male vs female card then sadly we should admit, we aren't really equal. I am not willing to admit that. If I chose to punch anyone, female or male, I should realize if they are bigger and stronger than me, I just might end up on the losing end.

It is hard staying married these days. It is also hard being a parent these days. I am convinced that staying with someone for an extended number of years isn't always realistic. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't try! Many times battles ensue when parents can't agree on parenting styles and that can cause conflict. It is probably even harder when stepparents are involved. If that is the case, I wonder how one decides who comes in first place "spouse" or "child."
My personal opinion, which will not be popular, but you have committed to your spouse for a lifetime, the child leaves home in 18-20 years. If your spouse is reasonable he/she should come first. Your thoughts?

I am amazed at how many parents don't get the fact you can't be "friends" with your kids. That's not to say, you shouldn't love them and have fun with them. However, you can't crack the whip when necessary on kids who see you as friends. You have to be the adult. Parents also need to avoid having the television, computer, or friends over every week to serve as babysitters. Your thoughts?
