In most areas of the country, the children have returned to school. It seems to me they get less and less time off every year but yet they aren't as smart when it comes to book sense and past generations. Anyone have thoughts on this?

The other day I had a teenager challenge me to give their music a chance and listen to a Nurock radio station for one week. I am a person who grew up openminded when it comes to music. I like a little bit of everything. I will listen to anything from Burl Ives to Motley Crue, lol. I gave the radio station and music a chance and I can sincerely say it is not the same. For one, I could not tell any of the bands apart. It all sounded the same and I heard no real talent anywhere. There were no catchy choruses, no great guitar, nothing. Maybe I am getting old but I just don't get today's music. Which is weird because I like music from the 60's (before my time), 70's, 80's and even the early 90's, but today's music whether it be rock, pop, or country, blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

One of the things I love in recent years is the fact women are allowed to be athletic. We can now flex our bicep and it not be considered masculine. As someone who believes in fitness, I love it and one of the observations I have made is that the persumed male strength advantage is highly overrated. I can outlift half the guys at my gym. Yeah for me!

I have been thinking about the war in Iraq lately. I have decided that my problem isn't really that we are trying to protect other people but the fact President Bush and his administration keep lying to us. I have a lot of issues with President Clinton's lack of honesty but to be frank at least Clinton didn't put our men and women in a position to die. In my view, President Bush is worse than Clinton in a lot of ways and that is disappointing. I honestly supported him in the beginning but there are things you simply cannot defend.

I am a big music lover and spend most mornings listening to a CD. I really like all types of music. The other day I actually listened to Debbie Gibson's Greatest Hits (Stop laughing) What did you listen to this morning?
